This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies Review Sync Manager uses on our website, in the web app and on the review pages we host for businesses. For how we handle personal data in general, see our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. We also use your browser’s local storage, which works in a similar way but is never sent to our servers.

2. Essential cookies

These are needed for the website and app to work and to keep them secure, so they cannot be switched off.

• Session cookie — keeps you signed in and remembers your choices while you use the site. It expires after a period of inactivity. With the session we store your IP address and browser details on our servers to protect accounts and prevent abuse.
• XSRF-TOKEN — protects forms against cross-site request forgery. It lasts as long as your session.
• Remember-me cookie — set only if you tick “Remember me” when signing in, so you stay signed in on that browser. It is removed when you sign out.
• rsm_consent — remembers whether you accepted or declined optional cookies in our cookie banner, for one year.

The review and feedback pages that businesses send to their customers use the same session cookie, to protect the forms and avoid counting the same visit twice.

3. Preferences stored in your browser

We use local storage to remember your light or dark theme, whether the app sidebar is collapsed, and whether you closed an announcement on our website. This stays on your device.

4. Analytics and marketing cookies

Our website may use analytics or marketing tools to understand how visitors use it. These tools and their cookies load only after you click “Accept” in the cookie banner. If you decline, they are not loaded. Email us to get the current list of tools we use.

We do not use analytics or marketing cookies inside the Review Sync Manager app or on the review pages sent to our customers’ customers.

5. Review widgets on other websites

Businesses can show their reviews on their own websites with our review widget. The widget does not set any cookies and does not track visitors. Reviewers’ profile pictures load directly from Google or Facebook, whose own policies apply.

6. Managing cookies

• To change your choice for optional cookies, delete the cookies for this website in your browser; the banner will ask you again on your next visit.
• You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, you will not be able to sign in or submit forms.
